Snowboards

Freeride snowboards are for snowboarders who like to go everywhere. Freeride snowboards are directional snowboards built to mainly ride in one direction, and may be used for tree riding, cruising the groomers or dabbling in the pipe and park. The Click Worldwide offers freeride snowboards from Burton Snowboards, Capita Snowboards, Forum Snowboards, GNU Snowboards, Lib Tech Snowboards, Never Summer Snowboards, Option Snowboards, Rome Snowboards, and Technine Snowboards. All of these brands make freeride, freestyle, and wide boards to accommodate any riding style. Freeride snowboards usually have a directional shape meaning the inserts for the bindings are set back from the nose and closer to the tail.

The reason most freeride snowboards have a little more nose than tail is because these snowboards are built to ride in one direction. Don’t get us wrong, these snowboards are still capable of riding both directions just not as easy as a freestyle snowboard might be. Since there is a little more nose with a freeride snowboard you are able to float on the snow a little easier. Floating is a wonderful sensation on powder days, but if the nose of the snowboard is too short your snowboard usually digs into the snow and you go head over heels. If you are in deep powder all the time you may want to consider purchasing a powder snowboard, then going head over heels will become a thing of the past. Powder snowboards are considerably more directional snowboards than freeride snowboards with a wider nose and a more narrow tail. Snowboards used for freeriding also usually have a directional flex meaning the tail is a little stiffer than the nose.

The overall flex of freeride snowboards is usually a medium to stiff flex to hold an edge when snowboarding at high speeds. The stiffer the snowboard the more stable it is, but also more responsive so make sure your always paying attention to your riding. If you enjoy riding the whole mountain usually sticking to single direction riding than you are probably considered an all mountain rider who needs a freeride snowboard.
